Mandate, Mission, and Mobilization

by Doug Kreighbaum
Register  HERE for the fall conference at Covenant Harvest Church  in Pittsburg, Kansas, September 16th-19th, 2010.  The theme of this year’s conference is “Mandate, Mission, and Mobilization.”
When God joins people together, He does so for purpose.  It is vital that we have a grasp of that purpose in God’s joining.  While we only know in part (1 Corinthians 13:12), we can walk with an assurance of the mandate and mission God has given us from heaven.
The Apostle Paul in response to King Agrippa’s questioning, responded that he was obedient …

Vikings Everywhere

by Buck Hudson
Staden På Berget (City on a Hill) in Horred Sweden, was the hosting church for the yearly Nordic Conference during May of this year. 175 Church Leaders came together for three days of fellowship, God’s Presence, and illuminating teaching from Doug Kreighbaum. Doug did a masterful job in presenting the message of building despite intimidation, using the example of Ezra and Nehemiah and the obstacles they faced.
We were also privileged to have Denise with us. The Nordic Conference is a yearly gathering for all Scandinavian churches where church leaders …

Mike Poulton, A True Steersman

By Buck Hudson

During our September conference, we will have the privilege of having a visit from Mike and Cath Poulton. Mike is the Basingstoke team administrator, which includes overseeing the legal and financial work for the Basingstoke Community Churches. He is a trustee for the Salt and Light worldwide family. …

What I Want to Be When I Grow Up

by Kathy Nickerson
Remember this writing assignment from grade school? In those days, most of us had pretty glamorous dreams for the future.  And we expected the NFL recruiters, movie producers, and astronaut trainers to simply discover us in obscurity one day.
For me, the dream always included writing, and I kept waiting for someone to activate me from the outside. I had daydreams about One-of-the-Big-Guys laying his hands on me at an altar, prophesying about my great call, and then launching me into my destiny. Then, one day I woke up …

A Plan for Peace

by Lori Forbis, Kirksville, Missouri
If you want to get Amy Burbee riled up, call her a nice Christian. “I don’t do this because I’m “nice”; I do it because I love those kids!” The kids she’s referring to all live in the Devlin Place public housing complex in Kirksville, MO.  Devlin Place comes complete with what is stereotypically found in “the projects” including many broken families.  It is a wonderful place to bring hope to the hopeless.
P.C. Mills Park is across the street from Devlin. Last summer as D’Markus was …
